Why we shouldn’t wish our time away.

25,000 days! That’s the average life span of a human being — roughly 68.5 years. For me (and possibly a few others reading this) that’s a little scary given that some of us are in our mid-50s. If these numbers are correct, it means that some of us may only have 13 summers left … Holy $h1T!

Now, before people start hyper-ventilating please remember that 68.5 years is an average.

According to 2019 statistics, the population of many of the wealthiest countries around the world have life expectancies in excess of 80 years, e.g. Japan >85 with Spain, Switzerland, Italy, and Australia close behind at >83.

Unfortunately at the opposite end of the spectrum, there are countries like the Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Chad which all have a life expectancy of approximately 54 years! This certainly was an eye opener for me given that I have already surpassed that age.

Looking at the global statistics we can clearly see that there’s a direct correlation between life expectancy and where a person lives.
